Youngsun Moon, M.A.

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Education specializing in Human Development in Context (HDiC). Before pursuing my Ph.D., I received my B.A. and M.A. from Korean University and taught as a middle school English teacher.

My main research goal is to identify the necessary skills for reading and writing and how these skills interact and support students’ literacy development. I have been exploring potential foundational skills and indicators of future reading and writing proficiency for diverse groups of students from diverse language backgrounds. I am also interested in language assessment and psychometrics and engaged in learning advanced statistical methods that allow me to answer more nuanced research questions.
